I am a fourth-generation Canandaiguan, having graduated from Canandaigua Academy in 1961 where I was class president and valedictorian. I received BS, MS, and PhD degrees in chemical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute before working at the Kodak Research Laboratories as a research scientist and manager for the next 30 years. I then returned to college for 2 years and achieved formal certification in personal financial planning (CFP®). During that time, I prepared personal income taxes at H&R Block. In 2002, I joined Canandaigua National Bank & Trust as a personal financial planner and I am currently Senior Vice President, Senior Planning Advisor.
I was first elected to City Council in 2003. This year, I am completing 16 years (8 terms) as a Councilmember-at-Large. My main goal, as it always has been, is to maintain and enhance the quality of life for city residents while doing so in a cost-effective manner. I was raised in Canandaigua and enjoyed all the benefits of our great community. I want the same for current and future residents. A second goal is to see the Canandaigua Finger Lakes Resort and Conference Center project completed and in full operation. |
