I grew up on Canandaigua Lake, living most of that time in Naples where I graduated in 1987. I was active in everything in school including academics, band, chorus, theater, cheerleading, skiing, swimming, and soccer. Most of my family is here in Canandaigua, Bristol, and Honeoye.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in English Literature from SUNY Fredonia, and my master's of science from RIT in Human Resource Development. I worked for 15 years for Thomson Reuters and they supported my family's move to Minnesota for a job opportunity. Today, I am the Director of Internal Communications for Atlas Technology Services, Inc., a global Employer of Record software company. After living and working in Minneapolis/St. Paul for 13 years, the opportunity to work remotely allowed me to return to the City of Canandaigua in 2017. My husband Don and I dove head first into updating our wonderful 1870 farmhouse. Our daughter, Lydia (26), and our son, Mason (22), graduated from high school and college in Minnesota. Our youngest son, Jack (11), will be a Canandaigua Academy graduate in the class of 2029! We are thrilled to be "home again" and keen to give back to this wonderful lake community. My vision for Canandaigua includes a committed city government that takes the opportunity to build a relationship with its residents, to listen and share with transparency. We need to listen to our residents and do what is best for all, seeking creative solutions to financial challenges like rising housing costs and maintenance of city resources. I believe we also need to hold government agencies and officials accountable for the work we expect of them. Environmental realities must be addressed to protect the lakes we are so proud of and for our city to become a shining light in the New York State race for green. Real change will require us to mend relationships between parties and unite for the good of our city. I am committed to working hard with, and for, everyone. |
